CHARLESTON, SC. - Michael Rivera's bases loaded walk lifted Tennessee overOld Dominion, 5-4 in the ESPN/Citadel Baseball Shootout, Sunday in Riley Park. ODUis now 1-2, Tennessee is now 6-0. Six Monarchs had two hits on the day.
The Monarchs jumped out to a 4-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the secondand one more in the bottom of the third. After Allen Strick (Glen Burnie, MD) led off withthe single, senior firstbaseman Brandon Le Noir (Ocala, FL.) Slammed a home run to giveODU a 2-0 lead. In the third inning, Derrick James (Terre Haute, IN.) singled in freshman Keith Hahn (Valley Stream, NY.) to give ODU a 3-0 lead.

The Volunteers bounced back to tie the score at four with an unearned run in the fifthscored by Michael Rivera, then back-to-back homers by Brian Cleveland and Javy Herra inthe sixth and an RBI double by Walter Sevilla which plated Jordan Vzarniecki.
ODU mounted a rally in the ninth with Joe Moore (Woodbridge, VA.) and Brent Sollenberger (Chambersberg, PA.) getting hits, but Vol's Steve Wesley came in and gotthe save for Tennessee.
ODU hosts Rutgers in a three-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
