PHILADELPHIA (AP) - John Waller hit a 3-point field goal as time expired togive Old Dominion a 72-69 win over Drexel Wednesday night.
Rasheed Wright scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half to lead OldDominion (9-8, 6-3 Colonial Athletic Association), which won its third straightgame. Ricardo Marsh added 16 points for the Monarchs.
Robert Battle had 20 points, nine rebounds, and eight blocks to lead Drexel(11-7, 6-3), which missed all five 3-point attempts in the second half. EricSchmieder added 13 points for Drexel.
Schmieder stole the ball under the basket and scored on a layup to tie thegame at 69-69 with 18 seconds remaining.
Alex Loughton had scored on a layup with 12:17 remaining in the game to giveOld Dominion a 55-50 lead, its biggest of the game.
Troy Nance scored on a layup with 28 seconds remaining in the first half togive the Monarchs a 40-39 halftime lead. There were 17 lead changes in thefirst half. ODU outrebounded Drexel, 33-29 as Marsh led with nine. The Monarchs alsocommitted onlyh 11 turnovers.
The Monarchs host CAA rival Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday at 7 p.m. in theTed Constant Convocation Center.
