Vendegh Named CAA Player of the Week

Old Dominion University junior forward Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) has been named to the first team Verizon Academic All-American Men's Soccer University Team. Vendegh who leads the CAA in scoring with 15 goals and 36 points carries a 3.73 grade point average in international business.

Vendegh is most prolific scorer in ODU history after breaking the career record for most goals (45) and most points (105) this season. He will lead his team into their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1991 this Saturday night. The Monarchs (9-8-1) host the University of Richmond at 7:00 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Stadium.

He has also been named CAA Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and is one of only three juniors to make the academic first team. Hofstra's Arni Gunnarsson who is a junior engineering major with a 3.89 GPA also represented the CAA on the first team.
