The Old Dominion University golf team finished the Carolina First Intercollegiate on Tuesday tied for third with UNC-Wilmington after shooting a 297 in the final round. Junior Chris Kline (Hampton, VA) led the Monarchs with a fourth place showing, six shots off the pace with a three under 213.
The Monarchs went into the final 18 in the lead after firing a 289 and 286 in the first two rounds on Monday. The 297 on Tuesday sent them to third with an eight over 872, which was two shots off the lead. East Carolina came from fourth to take the win after a final round 290.
Geoffrey Harris (Reading, England ) was the only other Monarch in the top 10 as he shot a 215, good enough for a tie in seventh. Chris Piercy (Reading, England) closed out the tournament tied for 11th with a 217.
