Richmond, VA-Old Dominion junior Geoffrey Harris (Reading, England) has been named the CAA Golfer of the Year in voting by the league's head coaches.
In the fall, Harris ranked as high as second nationally with a 70.0 stroke average when he posted four second place finishes in four events. He lost in a playoff at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate to open the season and continued his strong play with runner-up efforts at the Carolina First, River Landing and ODU/ Seascape tournaments. For the year, Harris notched nine Top 10 finishes in 11 events and posted 19 rounds at or under par. He was recently selected as a member of the 2002 Palmer Cup team and will represent Great Britain in a match pitting the top eight collegiate golfers from the United States against their counterparts from Great Britain and Ireland.
Joining Harris on the All-CAA squad is senior Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada). Hospodar earned a spot on the second team, marking the fourth year in a row that he has been named to the all-conference squad.
UNC-Wilmington's Bill Lewis was named the CAA Rookie of the Year and William & Mary's Scott King was voted Coach of the Year.
