NORFOLK, VA. - Demarque Hairston(Martinsville, Va.) had two triples, scored four times to lead Old Dominion's 20-hit attack in a 13-4 victory over Princeton Sunday afternoon. ODU is now 7-9, Princeton is 1-3. Kevin Snapp (Yorba Linda, CA.) and Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, Pa.) each had four hits for the Monarchs.

With the score tied at three in the sixth, Ryan Harvey (Riverside, CA.) tripledhome Mike Croley (Jupiter, Fla.) To start off a five-run outburst capped by a two-runsingle by Jared Musolf (Lakehurst, NJ.).

Hairston tied an ODU school record for triples in a game with two. He tripledin the first and scored on Snapps' rbi single. He then tripled in two runs in the seventhinning. He also had a triple in Saturday's second game to give him three on the season.He joins Monarch alumni Tony Zontini in 1968 against William and Mary, Eric Maitland in 1971 against NC. State, Don Hauck in 1973 against Randolph-Macon, Nelson Verbit in 1982 and Rob Gilland in 1983 against Norfolk State, Scott Thompsonin 1990 against Virginia Wesleyan and St. Bonaventure, Geoff Edsell in 1992 againstSt. Joseph's and Maika Symmonds in 1995 against Virginia.

Senior lefthander Jonathan Tinkham (Chesapeake, Va. ) picked up his first win of the season. He fanned five and gave up six hits with three unearned runs.

Princeton scored three runs in the first with two outs. With the bases loadedErick Voelker walked in Steve Young. Tim Lahey singled in Ryan Eldridge and Jon Miller. In the eighth, Brian Biegen sacrifice fly scored Voelker.

The Monarchs return to action on Tuesday when they travel to nationally rankedEast Carolina for a 3 p.m. contest, then return home to host VMI on Wednesday at1 p.m. and Virginia on Thursday at 1 p.m.
