Old Dominion needs wins in its final three games to complete a perfectseason in the Colonial Athletic Association.
The first of those games is Friday night, when the 18th-ranked Lady Monarchstravel to Long Island, N.Y. for a matchup with Hofstra.
Old Dominion (19-5, 15-0) clinched the conference title and the top seed inthe upcoming CAA tournament with a 67-43 victory over James Madison onSunday.
Senior Lucienne Berthieu scored 20 points on 10-of-10 from the field andgrabbed eight rebounds for the Lady Monarchs, who shot 52 percent (27-of-52)from the field while limiting James Madison to just 29 percent (14-of-49).
It was the 12th straight win for Old Dominion since a 74-62 loss topowerhouse Tennessee on Jan. 8.
The Lady Monarchs have ruled the CAA over the last two years, compiling a30-1 record. They are 189-7 all-time in the conference, including a 91-6road mark.
Going unbeaten in the conference seems a very likely scenario for OldDominion, which has Drexel and William and Mary remaining on the scheduleafter Friday. Hofstra, Drexel and William and Mary are a combined 14-31 inthe league this season.
Berthieu leads the Monarchs with 13.4 points per game and is second on theteam with 7.1 rebounds. Hamchetou Maiga averages 11.4 points and a team-high8.1 boards.
Senior forward Kimberly Coke scored a career-high 26 points as Hofstra(8-16, 5-10) ended a three-game skid with a 79-65 victory over Drexel onSunday.
Either Coke or junior guard Jen Brickey has led the Pride in scoring in 28straight games. Brickey averages a team-best 16.8 points and Coke is secondwith 12.1 points.
Five players scored in double figures as ODU coasted to an 82-48 rout ofHofstra on Jan. 17 in the first meeting between the teams.
