NEW YORK, NY. - Ticha Penicheiro ( `98), point guard for the Sacramento Monarchs was selected second team WNBA All-Star. Penicheiroonce again led the WNBA in assists at 7.5 per game and ranked tenth in the leaguein steals at 1.7. The two-time Kodak All-American at Old Dominion completed hercareer with the Lady Monarchs with 939 assists, 591 steals and 1,304 points. Sacramento reached the Western Conference Finals.
Adrienne Goodson ( `88) ranked 18th in the WNBA in scoring at 12.3 and 12th in double-doubles with three. She averaged 5.4 rebounds per game for Utah, who reached the playoffs.
Mery Andrade ( `99) averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 assists for the ClevelandRockers helping them to the Eastern Conference regular season title, while ClarisseMachanguana (`97) averaged 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game for theCharlotte Sting who reached the WNBA Finals.
Anne Donovan (`83) and Maura McHugh (`75) enjoyed successful head coaching debuts. McHugh took Sacramento to the WNBA Western Conference finals,while Donovan has Charlotte in the championship series against Los Angeles.
