Lady Monarch Sailors Seventh After 13 Races

BOSTON, MA - The Old Dominion University Women's Sailing squad is in seventh place after 13 races today at the ICSA Collegiate Sailing National Championships. Dartmouth leads the regatta with 138 points followed by St. Mary'sCollege with 139 and Hawaii with 143, while the Lady Monarchs have 194. Final day of racing will be Thursday in this 18-team event.

The Lady Monarchs A-Division boat consisting of Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI.), and Cara Gibbons-Neff (Annapolis, MD.) was sixth today with 88 points, while the B-Division boat, sailed by Corie Clement (Metairie, LA.), Liz Bower (Fairport, NY.) and Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY.) was ninth with 106 points. The Lady Monarchs A boat had one second place and a third place today, while the B boat took fourth in race eight.

Old Dominion will compete in the Team Race National Championships, June3-5, then the Coed Dinghy Nationals, June 6-8.
