UMBC's Kim Brown got the Retrievers on the board first, converting on afree position shot 1:30 into the game. But the Lady Monarchs rattled offthree straight goals and would lead the contest the rest of the way.Woczyna and Danielle Hensil scored two goals each as ODU built an 8-3halftime advantage.
Wisniewski took over the game in the second half, scoring the first twogoals of the half to extend ODU's lead to 10-3, then scoring her team'sfinal three goals of the contest in the last 6:29 of the game.
UMBC was led by senior midfielder Renee Tirocchi, who scored three goalsand junior midfielder Ashley Staines, who came off the bench to score apair of goals and add an assist. ODU starting netminder Laurie Kollerrecorded five saves, while allowing seven of eight UMBC scores, in 55minutes of action. UMBC starter Amy Jagoda permitted 10 goals and made 6saves in 39 minutes, while reserve Courtney Stringer made a pair of savesand allowed seven ODU scores.
