For the women's team, strong performances on the diving board by sophomore Ashley Kirchner (Arlington, VA) helped put the Lady Monarchs in the lead against their three opponents, and usual stand outs Sarah Mooney (Riverside, RI), Jamie D'Agostino (Ardsley, NY), and Kara Fichthorn (Landsdowne, PA) helped put the matches away. The Lady Monarchs defeated UNC-Wilmington and American and tied the College of William and Mary.
Although the men weren't as fortunate, several individual swimmers performed well. Junior Mark Giusto (Va. Beach, VA), senior Mike Coley (Niskayuna, NY), sophomore John Wall (Hoover, AL), and freshman Steve Maher (Lincoln, RI) all logged victories in the three losses.
Old Dominion will return to the pool on Saturday, February 3, when they host UMBC.
