HARRISONBURG, VA (Jan. 20) -- The Old Dominion University swimming and diving teams fell to James Madison this afternoon. The men lost 147-90, while the women came up one point short, 122-121.
On the men's side, Eric Mitchell (Armonk, NY), Mark Giusto (Va. Beach, VA), John Wall (Hoover, AL), and Steve Corson (Delmar, NY) each logged first-place finishes, but it wasn't enough as the Dukes pulled away late.
The women's team was paced by Kara Fichthorn (Landsdowne, PA), Jamie D'Agostino (Ardsley, NY), and Ashley Kirchner (Arlington, VA) on the diving boards. The Monarch women held the lead in the dual meet until the very last event, but could not hold off James Madison in the 400 relay.
The Monarch swimming and diving teams, both currently 2-3 on the season, will return to action next weekend when they host the ODU Scholarship Swim Meet.
