Hummel pounded out a homer and two doubles, while Troilo had a homer, and adouble to knock in seven runs on five hits. In all, Hummel went six-for-eightand scoredfive times. Sophomore designated hitter David Vilardi (Fishkill,NY.) knockedin four runs as well.
The seven runs batted in for Troilo is a career high. Hummel's six hits isa career high and ties a school mark held by Shawn Pearson (1999), MattQuatraro ( 1994 ) and Rob Morgan (1995).
Junior lefthander Parker Friske (Va. Beach, Va.) picked up his first winof the yearand sophomore Louis Mazzante (Montoursville, Pa.) pitched the last four innings.Thetwo combined for ten strikeouts and only one walk. The Spartans lone run came inthe bottom of the ninth as Ryan Smith doubled home Antoine Jackson.
