FAIRFAX, VA (February 26, 2000) -- Old Dominion's men's swimming and diving team fell just short of their second CAA title in three years on Feb. 26 as JMU edged out the Monarchs for first in the men's competition at the CAA Championships. The women's team finished in seventh-place, while ECU's women's team won the championship.
Senior diver Kevin Harrison (Bethpage, NY) won the men's three-meter dive competition on Saturday, giving him a sweep of the diving event for the second year in a row. Freshman diver Ashley Kirchner (Arlington, VA) won the women's one meter, surpassing last year's CAA Diver of the Year Meredith Blanchett of American.
Lady Monarch freshman Jamie D'Agostino (Ardsley, NY) set her second meet record in as many days by winning the women's 1650 freestyle in a time of 16:56.12, eclipsing the old mark held by four-time CAA Women's Swimmer of the Year Mary Kay Bolduc.
