CLEMSON,S.C. - (Feb. 20) First baseman Michael Johnson homered twice anddrove in five runs to lead 11th ranked Clemson to a 10-2victory over the Monarchs Sunday afternoon. Clemson is now5-1, the Monarchs drop to 2-5-1.
Johnson got the Tigers on the board in the first inning witha grand slam to right field. It was the first homerun allowed by Monarchpitching this year. Johnson then hita solo shot in the seventh inning. Ryan Mottl pitched fivescoreless innings and picked up the win.
The Monarchs, who had just two hits, scored two runs in thesixth on a passed ball and run scoring single by Jared Musolf (Lakehurst, NJ.).
Old Dominion is off until Friday when they host Rutgers ina three-game series beginning at 3 p.m.
