Blue Out to Beat Prostate Cancer 
Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Sentara, and SURF (Schellhammer Urological Research Foundation) will headline Community Day in presenting their second annual Blue Out to Beat Prostate Cancer.  This year, the Blue Out to Beat Prostate Cancer serves as the official kickoff for SURF’s Prostate Awareness Month Campaign.  The game will feature a Survivor moment, a time to celebrate the courage of prostate cancer survivors and their caregivers.  ODU will offer special ticket packages to healthcare professionals throughout Hampton Roads.  

Local Community Groups 
Community Day aims to celebrate the Hampton Roads Community with special ticket offers for youth football teams across the state, healthcare professionals, first responders and the maritime community. Monarchs Give Back 
“Monarchs Give Back” is a campus and community-wide food drive to benefit the Norfolk Public Schools children experience food insecurity and our own “Monarch Pantry”, right here on campus.  This year, the goal is to collect 40,000 non-perishable items/monetary donations to benefit Norfolk Public Schools and the ODU Monarch Pantry.  Donations will be accepted at the gate on gameday.  Additional information will be provided we get closer to the season kicking off.  

Hall of Fame 
This year’s ODU Sports Hall of Fame ceremony will be on Friday, September 6 at Chartway Arena.  This year’s class features Trey Freeman (Men’s Basketball), Christy Longacre (Field Hockey), Jonathan Plisco (Football), Evan Newton (Men’s Soccer) and Marty Bradley (Athletic Training).  The hall of famers will be introduced to the crowd during the game.
