Rick French joined the ODU staff in 2013 as the Associate Athletic Director for Operations.
French was promoted to his current title of Senior Associate AD/Athletic Facilities and Sport Administration in 2021. French is the sport administrator for ODU's men's and women's soccer teams.
Rick oversees planning and coordination in conjunction with other staff members, as well as all the intercollegiate events and tournaments. He is also responsible for scheduling all athletic spaces and works directly with coaches and administrative staff to assess and determine event and/or facility needs for competition operations.
French oversaw the demolition of Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium and the construction of Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
Before joining the Monarch family, Rick was the Director of Athletic Events at Western Kentucky University.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky., Rick is an alum of Western Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in park and recreation administration and a Master of Science in recreation and sport administration.
