Pierce Yarberry joined the ODU Athletics Department in August of 2022 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and was promoted to Associate Director in January 2025. He serves as the primary contact for women's volleyball, men's and women's golf, women's basketball and baseball.
A Virginia Beach, Virginia native, Pierce is a 2012 graduate of Christopher Newport University, where he majored in English and wrote for the school newspaper, The Captain's Log. After interning at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in 2012-13 and at Lindsey Wilson College in 2013-14, he completed his Master's in Sport Management degree at ODU in 2016.
Yarberry then served as a Sports Information Assistant at Presbyterian College (2016-17) covering men's and women's soccer, women's basketball and women's lacrosse before a stint as the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Alcorn State University (2017-18). While at The Reservation, he served as the primary contact for the Braves' volleyball program, women's soccer, men's and women's cross country and track and field teams, women's basketball and baseball. Prior to joining the staff at ODU, he spent four years (2018-22) at Elon University as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, working with the Phoenix volleyball, men's and women's golf, and baseball programs.
