Jon Anderson

Jon Anderson is in his first season as defensive quality control coach at Old Dominion.
 
Anderson comes to ODU after spending the previous six seasons as the head coach at the University of Sioux Falls (SD). He led the Cougars to a pair of NCAA Division II playoff appearances and had a 40-17 record during his tenure.
 
In his six seasons at USF, Anderson coached 45 All-NSIC performers and six All-Americans. This past season, running back Thuro Reisdorfer became the fifth player in his tenure to be a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy as the Division II college football player of the year.
 
Prior to his time at Sioux Falls, Anders was the head coach at West Virginia State for four seasons.
 
Anderson started his coaching career in 1999 at Buena Vista University (Iowa) as the secondary coach before coaching the linebackers at Dakota State (SD) in 2001. In 2002 he began at Sioux Falls, coaching the linebackers and special teams there until 2009, before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2010.
 
Anderson was a three-year letterwinner at Buena Vista and earned his degree in secondary education. He received his master’s degree from South Dakota State.
