James Witham joined the football broadcast team in 2010 as the engineer, responsible for the technical aspects of the radio broadcast. In 2017, he began filling in as the sideline reporter for football and became the full time sideline reporter in 2021. James has also began serving as the color analyst for select football broadcasts in 2023.
Born in Tacoma, WA, James moved to Virginia Beach in 1989. He graduated from Old Dominion in 2001 with a degree in computer science. James began his radio career in 2003 and has worked at radio stations in Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
James has hosted more than 500 episodes of “The Down and Nerdy Podcast” discussing movies, tv shows, comics, video games and all nerd culture.
He is currently the Executive Producer and Co-Host of The Scott Jackson Show on the ODU flagship station, ESPN Radio 94.1.
