A standout goalkeeper during her collegiate career in the Midwest, Hope Stacker joined the Old Dominion coaching staff in July, 2024 as a graduate assistant coach. Stacker will be the primary goalkeeper coach for the Monarchs.

“I am genuinely excited to have Hope join our program as she is a very passionate young coach who is eager to develop, be part of an elite environment and has such a strong desire to share her GK experience both as a player and coach with our talented keepers. All these qualities I feel will bring a lot to our coaching staff and ultimately this program. Hope has impressed me by her eagerness to make a positive impact to the future of ODU women’s soccer and I am excited to welcome her to our program and Monarch family,” said ODU Head Coach Angie Hind.

Stacker joins the coaching staff this year after a stellar career at Indiana Wesleyan, where she was a three-time NAIA All-American selection and earned three First Team All-League honors. She finished her career with a school record .879 goals against average and 16 clean sheets.

In each of her seasons, Indiana Wesleyan made it to the second round of the NAIA National Championships. As a senior, she suffered an ACL injury in January of 2023 and did not return to playing until the final nine games of the season. During the time she was out, she served as the goalkeeper coach and helped guide freshman Avery Sluss to 10 clean sheets.

When Stacker returned to action, she started seven of the last nine games and allowed four goals in 521 minutes of action. She had a season-high eight saves against second-ranked Spring Arbor.

Stacker graduated with a double major in sports management and sports ministry and a minor in coaching. She also worked with the Indy Premier Soccer Club as a goalkeeper coach with boys and girls ages ranging from 8-18, focusing on goalkeeper player development, film review, and in-game evaluation and feedback.

"I am ecstatic and honored to join the ODU women's soccer staff,” said Stacker. “To be given this opportunity as a young coach and to be a part of such a successful and prestigious program is truly an honor. I am thrilled to get to work with such a talented goalkeeping squad and work alongside and learn from such a commendable group of coaches. Go Monarchs!"

Stacker is the daughter of Douglas and Christine Stacker and has four siblings: Heather Fanning, Brittany Thompson, Noah Stacker, and Leah Graber. She is the proud aunt of Remingtyn, Beckham, Nico, and Amelia.
