Carolyn Crutchfield

Carolyn Crutchfield was named ODU's Executive Senior Associate AD for Sport Administration and External Affairs in 2021.  Crutchfield has served as the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) since 2019 and the Deputy Title IX Coordinator since 2020.

Crutchfield is also currently the sport administrator for women's basketball, field hockey, volleyball, lacrosse and men's and women's swimming.

Crutchfield joined ODU in 2017 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing.

Prior to joining Old Dominion, Crutchfield was at Princeton University for eight years. In her final three years with the Tigers, she was elevated to the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Community Relations. She began working in New Jersey for Nelligan Sports Marketing in August of 2010 as an account executive that helped created business development plans for Princeton. She then moved over to the Princeton Varsity Club where she worked on fundraising and development strategies that drove growth and membership.

Before joining Princeton, Crutchfield held a position at Providence College as an event coordinator for the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. While at Providence, she was responsible for coordinating and planning a 1st & 2nd round site of the 2010 Division I NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament hosted by Providence College and the BIG EAST Conference.

Crutchfield is a 2006 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where she double majored, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.

While at Notre Dame, Crutchfield - then Cooper - was a four-year volleyball player for the Fighting Irish. She played a significant role in leading the team to four consecutive BIG EAST Conference titles and NCAA Tournament berths, culminating in a trip to the Sweet 16 during the 2005 season.

Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, she went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in sport management from the University of Tennessee, graduating in 2008.

Crutchfield is married to Randall Crutchfield.
