Cade Kelly is in his first year at Old Dominion and joined the Monarchs' Sports Performance staff in June 2023. He works with ODU's baseball and sailing teams.
Before coming to Norfolk, Kelly served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Southern Miss from 2021-2023 and assisted with the Golden Eagles' baseball, softball, and indoor and beach volleyball teams. He was also responsible for the training of the USM golf and tennis programs. During the 2023 season, the Golden Eagle Baseball team won the Sun Belt Tournament and were the Auburn Regional Champions. The team also had four players selected in the 2023 MLB Draft.
Other stops included working with the Mississippi State men's basketball team during the summer of 2021 and interning with the Southern Miss football program during the Spring of 2019 and 2021.
Kelly attended Southern Miss for both undergraduate and graduate school, earning his bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2021 and his master's degree in coaching and sport performance in 2023. He is a USA Level 1 weightlifting coach, has First Aid CPR and AED training through the American Heart Association, and is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified strength and conditioning specialist.
