2014-15: The No. 6 ranked Newcomer/Freshman in the entire NCAA entering her first semester (Fall 2014) at ODU. In Oct. at the 2014 Wilson/ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament in Blacksburg, Va., Botusharova advanced to the Semifinals. Prior to shining at Regional’s, she earned a spot in the title match of the Wake Forest Invitational. Back in September, Botusharova claimed third place at the Cissie Leary Invitational, hosted by UPenn. Then to kick off the spring season, ‘BB’ knocked off Tulsa’s Marcelina Cichon, who was ranked No. 70 in the country.
PERSONAL: A native of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, Botusharova has a career-high WTA ranking of No. 407, which solidifies her as Manilla's top-ranked recruit in his young coaching career.
In 2013, Borislava won the reputable Varna ITF 2013 Tournament after beating Pernilla Mendesova in the final, who is currently ranked No. 406.
Bousharova was the Bulgarian National champion in all age divisions.
Borislava started playing at the age of 3 and her mother was her first coach. Has been coached by her grandfather and mother prior to her attending Old Dominion. Most everyone in her extended family plays or have played competitive tennis. After graduation, Borislava wants to plan events and weddings in Bulgaria. She loves reading books especially novels when she has the time.
