Chilmaid has spent the last 30 years working in the corporate world as a Senior Manager for General Electric Company. A native of the United Kingdom, Chilmaid received his Masters in Business Administration from Kingston University in 2000.
Chilmaid has been involved in rowing for 40 years, both as a competitor, coach and event organizer and administrator. He was a British National Champion in various boat classes at both Junior and Senior level and represented Great Britain at both Junior and Senior World Championships. He is a member of Virginia Boat Club and London Rowing Club (UK).
Chilmaid is a qualified USRowing level 2 coach, and has held a number of informal coaching roles in both the UK and USA with crews at all levels across both sweep and sculling. Chilmaid was a volunteer coach at North Mooreland Rowing in Richmond Va, between 2007-09 where he helped start the High School Program. While at North Moreland the team achieved a silver medal in the Men's 1x at the Virginia State Championships.
Most recently Chilmaid has acted as the Masters Coordinator setting training programs, regatta planning and transportation at the Virginia Boat Club in Richmond Va.
