Tahj Scott

Tahj Scott joined Old Dominion as the Student-Athlete Development Coordinator/Athletic Academic Advisor in September of 2022.

Scott previously served as the Director of Athletic Academic Support/Life Skills at Hampton University. Prior to his stint at HU, the Hampton, Virginia product developed and facilitated countless professional development, life skills, and career transition programs for college and high school athletic programs across the 757 and 804.

Over the last decade, Scott has worked in athletics as a college basketball coach, advisor and mentor. On the collegiate level, Scott coached three years at St. Andrews University, one year at Richard Bland College, and one year at Thomas Nelson Community College (now Virginia Peninsula Community College). Some of his duties included advising student-athletes with academics and post college plans.

Scott, a two-time graduate of St. Andrews, received his B.A. in psychology and master’s degree in business administration. He also played three years of collegiate basketball between Patrick Henry Community College and St. Andrews, serving as team captain. Academically, Scott made the Dean’s List in three different semesters and was named to an Academic All-Conference team.
