Danielle Bell joined DeLisha Milton-Jones' staff in the summer of 2021 and enters her third season as an assistant coach in 2023-24. A native of Virginia Beach, Bell spent the previous three seasons at Gardner-Webb as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Year two for Bell saw ODU go 22-12 overall and 12-6 in conference play in what marked the Monarchs’ return to the Sun Belt. The team reached the Sun Belt Championship Semifinals as Amari Young earned All-Conference Second Team and All-Tournament Team honors. ODU also found itself ranked four times on CollegeInsider.com’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll four times throughout the season.

Bell's first season with the Monarchs saw the team finish 24-10 overall and 12-6 in Conference USA as ODU reach the second round of the WNIT. This past season, ODU reached the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship and land on CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Top 25 poll four times. The Monarchs went 22-12 overall and 12-6 in the Sun Belt in 2022-23 while posting the best home record in the league at 13-2 (.867). Amari Young earned All-Sun Belt Second Team and Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors.

Bell helped coach Gardner-Webb to three-consecutive winning seasons in the Big South. In 2019-20 the Runnin’ Bulldogs posted an 18-11 overall record, including a 13-7 conference mark. The year prior, GWU won 16 games. Bell played in instrumental part in the recruiting efforts of the program while also coaching Carley Plentovich and Jhessyka Williams to All-Big South Conference honors.

Prior to Gardner-Webb, Bell was on staff at Norfolk State for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. While with the Spartans, she managed scheduling, recruiting, team academics, film exchange, game preparation and summer camps while also working with NSU’s guards. Bell joined a team coming off a three-win season. In her first year, the Spartans finished .500. The following year, Norfolk State posted an 18-11 record, the program’s first winning season in 16 years.

Before joining Norfolk State, Bell served as the director of operations at Richmond, her alma mater. In that capacity, she oversaw managers and practice players, team uniforms and equipment and co-directed summer camps. Bell served as director of operations at Auburn during the 2012-13 season. 

Her coaching career began at Georgia, where Bell served as a graduate assistant for two seasons. She helped manage the day-to-day functions of the program like practice, travel and official recruiting visits. She also assisted in the player development of Georgia’s guards. With Bell on staff, the Bulldogs made consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and reached the Sweet 16 in 2011.
 
Bell was a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at Richmond, playing from 2006-10. She scored 801 career points and left the Spiders with the seventh-most 3-pointers in a career (133). Additionally, she helped lead Richmond to back-to-back 20-win seasons and a pair of postseason appearances.
 
A local product, Bell played at Kellam High School in Virginia Beach and participated in the Boo Williams AAU Summer League. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Richmond in 2010 and master’s degrees in adult education and sports management from Georgia in 2012.
