Brittany Young completed her second season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at ODU in 2018-19.

In her second season with ODU in 2018-19, Old Dominion posted one of the biggest turnarounds not only in program history, but in the nation. The Monarchs went 21-11, marking a 13-win improvement from the previous season. The 13+ win mark was the sixth-highest in the NCAA in 2018-19 and the second-best in program history. With the 21 wins, ODU earned an at-large bid to the WNIT, the program's seventh appearance in the WNIT and first postseason appearance since 2015. ODU had a nearly 15-point improvement offensively from a season ago, as the Monarchs increased their scoring average from 54.6 in 2017-18 to 68.5.

The Monarchs went 8-23 in Young's first season, but Young and the ODU coaching staff helped bring in the best recruiting class in Conference USA for the 2018-19 season.

Prior to ODU, Young coached for two seasons at Stetson. In her final season with the Hatters, Young helped guide Stetson to a 26-win season and the program's first-ever Atlantic Sun regular season championship.

Prior to Stetson, Young spent two seasons as an assistant at Daytona State College, where she served as the program's recruiting coordinator, director of player development, director of operations, academic coordinator and strength and conditioning liaison.

From 2011-13, Young served as a graduate assistant at South Carolina under Dawn Staley. During her two seasons at South Carolina, the Gamecocks were nationally ranked and twice earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament.

In 2011, Young was just one of 26 recipients of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, Young was a CoSIDA Academic All-American and all-conference performer at Francis Marion University. She is a member of the school's all-decade team and remains one of three players in FMU history to surpass 1,000 points and 500 assists in a career.

In addition to her success on the court, Young was President of the Student Athletic Advisory Council. She graduated from Francis Marion in 2008 and then obtained her master's degree in Sport and Entertainment Management from South Carolina in 2013.
