Amaka 'Mox' Agugua (Uh-mah-kuh Uh-goo-gwa) was named Old Dominion's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on June 20, 2011. Agugua spent the previous two seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Indiana University women's basketball program.

Prior to her time at Indiana, Agugua spent three seasons at Virginia Commonwealth, one as a graduate assistant and two as an assistant coach. At VCU, she was responsible for working with the Rams' post players, as well as assisting with VCU's recruiting efforts. Agugua was instrumental in guiding VCU to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2008-09, and develop two WNBA draft picks in Krystal Vaughn (2008) and Quanitra Hollingsworth (2009).

Agugua also has CAA ties as a player at Hofstra University. As a 5-11 forward for the Pride, Agugua earned a reputation around the league as an outstanding shooter and solid rebounder and had the numbers to back it up. A three-year captain, Agugua owns Hofstra's career mark for field goal shooting, hitting at a .551 (420-of-762) clip. Additionally, she holds the school's top three single-season marks for field goal accuracy, including the Pride all-time record of .561 in 2005-06.

She appeared in 95 games for Hofstra, including 82 starts, and averaged 10.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. She is 12th in program history with 568 rebounds and was just 30 points shy of joining the 1,000 point club, despite missing all of the 2004-05 season and most of 2001-02 due to injury.

In 2005-06, she served as captain for a Pride team that recorded a 19-12 record and made the school's first-ever postseason appearance, a trip to the WNIT. Agugua averaged 10.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and nearly a steal a game to bolster the Pride attack.

Agugua was a second team All-CAA selection in 2003-04 when she booked 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and shot .557. She was also a 2004-05 Preseason All-CAA First Team selection, but missed the year with an injury. In 2002-03 she averaged 11.3 points and a career-best 7.0 rebounds.

A native of Herndon, Va., Agugua starred at Oakton High School for coach Fred Priester. Her senior season she was an All-Met and All-Virginia selection, as well as a Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year finalist. She was also MVP of the Northern Region and took her team to the state championship game her senior year season. Additionally, Agugua participated in the Northern Region and Virginia State All-Star games.

Agugua earned her bachelor's degree in business management from Hofstra in 2005 and received her master's degree in sport leadership and administration through VCU's SportsCenter in 2007. She is originally from Nigeria.
