HEAD COACH GAIL GOESTENKORS
Opening Statement:
Really disappointed for my team especially my seniors. Bottom line is we did not make shots, you have to make shots to advance so. We struggled ball in the basket to put the ball in the basket, we give great credit to too the WVU they did a great job defensively with their physical style of play and we didn't always handle it well. I'm proud of my team and the comeback we made, we fought back and came within two and I thought it was going to come down to the wire.
More them on defense or your teams missed shots?
I think it was a combination of both, I give full credit to their defense, they were very physical, but I've see us play many physical teams and played very well. Nobody stops you from the free throw line, that's not about them being physical, we took it to the basket but didn't convert at the free throw line.
The top three starting guards were 9-42, were they doing something specific guard wise?
They did a real nice job in the passing lanes and they had good size on Chassidy (Fussell), and I think that caused her some problems. They used their bodies really well, even when we scored it was with contact
WVU's bench got 12 rebounds and 34 points which hasn't been a huge factor in a lot of games this year did that take you by surprise?
It definitely did. Their bench gave them a huge, huge lift and we really weren't counting on that, they had kids come in and hit big threes. They played with a lot of confidence and I think that gave them the boost they needed.
Can you talk about when your team came within two points and then fell behind again, what happened?
We changed our defense up a little to make them think a bit, but we had five defensive rebounds at halftime, you're not going to beat without defensive rebounds. During that run we did better with defensive rebounds.

I feel like their defense was really good they came up the passing lanes, but we missed shots we knew we could make, so it was a matter of us not being focused. We played really hard, but we did not play as hard as we wanted to.
Thoughts on playing your final game:
I'm disappointed I didn't want to come out and lose this game. My teammates played hard and I couldn't ask for anything else.

What made their defense as good as it was? They were as good as advertised.
Like AG (Ashley Gayle) said they were up in the passing lines, and just did a good job on defense, but our missed shots helped their defense
