UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Second-seeded Old Dominion will face seventh-seeded Delaware on Friday at 5 p.m. in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament quarterfinal round. The Lady Monarchs are seeking their 18th league title and the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament that comes along with it.

This year's conference tournament is being held at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. March 10-13, 2011. The tournament is being played at a neutral site for the first time since 1998.

Every Lady Monarch game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 94.1 with Tony Mercurio calling the action and Susan Montgomery providing color analysis. Both semifinal games on Saturday can be seen on WSKY (Channel 4 in the Hampton Roads area) and the championship game on Sunday will be shown live on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.

Old Dominion (20-9, 14-4 CAA) is 53-2 in its 19 years competing in the CAA Tournament. The Lady Monarchs have won 17 conference titles and have reached at least the semifinals every year. ODU is 18-0 in the CAA Tournament quarterfinals, 18-1 in the semifinal round and 17-1 in championship games.

The Lady Monarchs have twice been the No. 2 seed in the tournament (1995, 2005), winning the league title on both occasions.

Old Dominion has won both of its meetings against Delaware this season. The Lady Monarchs won in Newark, Del. by three in mid-January and defeated the Blue Hens in Norfolk by nine on February 27.

Delaware advanced to face the Lady Monarchs after topping Northeastern, 74-66, Thursday evening. The Blue Hens jumped out to a 20-point halftime advantage and held on for the first round victory.

UD Sophomore Elena Delle Donne had a difficult shooting night (6-for-19), but still paced Delaware (18-12) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Jocelyn Bailey added 14 points and sophomore Danielle Parker had nine points and eight boards.

In Friday's quarterfinals, top-seeded James Madison will face Georgia State at Noon, while #4 VCU takes on Hofstra at 2:30 p.m. In the 5 p.m. contest, #2 Old Dominion goes against Delaware, followed by #3 UNC Wilmington versus Drexel at 7:30 p.m. 


The semifinals are set for Noon and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the championship game taking place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13.
