RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Kquanise Byrd was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. The guard is the third different Lady Monarch to garner the award this season.

Byrd led Old Dominion (11-5, 5-0 CAA) to a pair of road victories in conference play last week. The guard averaged 15.5 points per game after entering the week averaging just 6.3.

The St. Petersburg, Fla. native poured in a career-high 22 points in ODU's win over Delaware Sunday and she also made three critical triples in the victory over Georgia State Thursday.

Byrd ended the week shooting 55 percent (10-of-18) from the floor, shot 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and 88 percent (8-of-9) from the free throw line.

Byrd joins senior guard Jasmine Parker and junior forward/center Tia Lewis as the three Lady Monarchs that have been selected as CAA Player of the Week's.

Old Dominion returns home on Thursday to take on Virginia Commonwealth. The contest will be broadcast on WSKY and Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic Plus. Additionally, Old Dominion head coach Wendy Larry will be going for her 600th career coaching victory. The legendary head coach currently has a 599-228 overall record.
