NEWARK, Del. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team, winners of four straight games and six of its past seven, will take on Colonial Athletic Association rival Delaware Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.
The contest can be heard on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM with play-by-play provided by Tony Mercurio and color analysis from Susan Montgomery.
Old Dominion (10-5, 4-0 CAA) currently sits alone atop the CAA standings, while Delaware (10-5, 3-1 CAA) is in a tie for second-place. The Lady Monarchs have won 10 of their last 11 league road games dating back to last season.
After losing its final three non-conference games, Delaware opened its CAA slate by winning three of four. After falling to Drexel last Sunday, the Blue Hens bounced back on Thursday by topping William & Mary, 60-51.
Delaware is 5-2 at the Bob Carpenter Center this season, including a perfect 2-0 in league games.
Sophomore All-American Elena Delle Donne leads the team in scoring at 26.0 points per game, but she has missed UD's last seven games with a back injury. Delle Donne has only played in seven games in 2010-11.
Lauren Carra is UD's second leading scorer at 11.6 points per game. Jocelyn Bailey, who averages 8.1 points per game, tallied a team-high 17 points in the Blue Hens last outing against William & Mary.
Old Dominion has won eight straight against UD and leads the all-time series 15-3. The Lady Monarchs and Blue Hens met three times last year, with ODU winning all three meetings by a combined four points.
