Eric Onesi (ODU'10) To Compete in PGA Q-School Finals Dec 1-6

WINTER GARDEN, FL--Three-time CAA runner-up Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.) will compete in the final stage of qualifying for the PGA and Nationwide Tour cards for 2011 when he competes at Orange County National, Dec. 1-6. The course is a par 72 with 7,277 yards.

Onesi, who competed in the NCAA Tournament twice while at ODU and earned All-CAA honors four times advanced after his play at the Pinewild CC in Pinehurst in October and recently in Brooksville, FL at Southern Hills Plantation. Onesi tied for eighth in Brooksville where he shot 73-69-68-70=280.

Onesi can get his card by finishing in the top 25 (including ties) of the event. The next 50 players (including ties) after the top 25 will earn Nationwide Tour cards for the following year. On the Nationwide tour, he will need to win three events or finish in the 15 on the money list to earn his PGA card.

Onesi was one of four Monarch golf standouts to be selected to the CAA's 25th Anniversary squad. He graduated from ODU last May with a degree in business management. Fans can follow Onesi on the Golf Channel, 1-4 p.m. Dec. 4th and 5th and 12-30-4 p.m. on Dec. 6th.
