NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team opens the regular season Sunday when they host Atlantic Coast Conference foe Georgia Tech at 2 p.m. in the Constant Center.
The Lady Monarchs, winners of two of their last three season openers, return four starters from a squad that won the CAA regular season title a year ago. ODU was picked to finish second in the CAA and is ranked No. 11 in the Preseason Mid-Major Poll.
Georgia Tech, which is receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches polls, will be playing its second game in three days after topping Georgia State on Friday.
The squads have split the only two all-time meetings, with each team winning on its home court.
Sunday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 94.1 with Tony Mercurio on the play-by-play and Susan Montgomery providing color commentary.
