When did you begin playing football?
When I was 5 years old in peewee football
Who has had the greatest impact on your career?
My father, Coach Daryl Cherry my high school line coach and Coach Jeff Magowhan my high school defensive coordinator.
Why did you choose to attend ODU?
Because I’m from the area and grew up around here
What has been the biggest difference between high school football and college football?
Everything because to me college football is totally different
What has it been the best part about being a member of ODU’s first football team in over 60 years?
Being able to step out in front of the fans and play
If you could play another position what would it be and why?
Linebacker because all of my favorite football players in the NFL are linebackers
Favorite sports other than your own?
Wrestling and baseball
After meeting Coach Wilder for the first time, what were your thoughts?
This is a coach who wants the best for his kids and wants to win for the school
After meeting your position coach for the first time, what were your thoughts?
This is going to be a great five years of learning
Do you have a pre-game ritual, if so what is it?
I listen to my IPod and eat a power bar
What is your funniest memory from an ODU practice thus far?
None because I’m all business
If you could line up opposite any player in the NFL and go 1-on-1, who would it be and why?
Darnell Dockett of the Arizona Cardinals so he could teach me his moves
What song is stuck in your head right now?
Let the bodies hit the floor by drowning pool
What is your dream job?
Playing and starting in the NFL

My Virginia Beach Male Athlete of the Year awards
