PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- Senior guard T.J. Jordan (Portsmouth, Va.) was honored by the Portsmouth Sports Club as its Virginia College Female Athlete of the Year Wednesday night at its annual jamboree.
A product of Wilson High School in Portsmouth, Jordan is currently the Lady Monarchs' leading scorer at 13.8 points per game for the Old Dominion women's basketball team ranked 11th in the country by both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Polls. The senior guard is Old Dominion's all-time three-point score and is currently tied as the Colonial Athletic Association's (CAA) all-time leader in three-pointers with 309 made treys under her belt. Nationally, she ranked 17th among all Division I women's basketball player averaging 2.7 three's a game.
Jordan has helped the Old Dominion women's basketball squad to a 24-3 overall mark and perfect CAA mark of 15-0. Playing against some of the toughest competition in the country, Jordan and her teammates have produced wins against ranked opponents in Purdue, Vanderbilt,and Michigan State as well as having faced No. 1 Connecticut, No. 2 Tennessee, and No. 7 Stanford.
A two-time All-CAA selection, Jordan has collected 1,440 career points and sits in 16th on the all-time list.
The No. 11 Old Dominion women's basketball returns to action on Thursday, February 28th against George Mason. A win will clinch the CAA regular season title for the Lady Monarchs and the top-seed upcoming CAA Tournament.
