ALUMNI DAY: Old Dominion welcomes back to campus members of the first five CAA Women's Basketball Championship teams (1992-96). Among the expected attendees include Pam Huntley, Abigail Picache, Kim Aston, Lateefah Hill, Shonda DeBerry, Amy Rowley, Beth McGowan, Stacy Himes, and Kelly Bradley along with former managers Leslie Williams and Felecia Allen.
MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY: It is also Military Appreciation Day as members of the Armed Services and up to three guests will be admitted at the group discount rate with proof of a military ID at the box office.
ABOUT THE LADY MONARCHS:The No. 13/18 Lady Monarchs are winners in their last 11 contests and in 14 of their last 15 games. Old Dominion closes out not only a two-game homestand, but the season series UNC-Wilmington on Sunday, February 3rd. Old Dominion is coming off an 76-44 route of Georgia State Thursday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in the Lady Monarchs' third straight win by over 30 points, 20th straight in CAA action, and 19th straight at home. Junior Jazzmin Walters captured a career-tying 14 points as one of four Lady Monarchs in double figurs. Senior T.J. Jordan led all scorers with 16 points, the first time since ODU's victory against James Madison that she has led the squad in scoring. Joining Jordan and Walters in double figures were senior Shahida Williams with 13, and CAA Player of the Week Jessica Canady coming off the bench to net 10. Senior T.J. Jordan continues to lead the squad at 13.7 points per game. Senior Megan Pym continues leads the Lady Monarchs on the battle of the boards at 7.6 rebounds per game.
ABOUT UNC-WILMINGTON:The Seahawks enter Sunday's game with an 11-8 overall record and 2-6 mark in the CAA, after going 9-2 against non-conference opponents. UNC-Wilmington is coming off a 72-62 loss at William & Mary Thursday night. The Seahawks held a slim 29-27 margin at the half, but the Tribe broke open the game on with a 31-9 run over the span of nine minutes in the second half. Junior guard/forward Sahsha Taylor leads a trio of Seahawks in double figures. Taylor enters the Ted with 13.6 points per game and a squad second-best 6.2 rebounds per contest. Freshman Brittany Blackwell, a three-time CAA Rookie of the Week, is UNC-Wilmington's second leading scorer at 13.4 points per game along with a team-leading 7.6 boards per game. Sophomore guard Greta Luksyte rounds out the double figure scoring averages for the Seahawks at 10.7 points per game.

SERIES WITH UNC-WILMINGTON:Old Dominion leads the all-time series 35-0. The Seahawks are one of five CAA teams that have yet to record a victory over the Lady Monarchs. In the previous meeting this season, Old Dominion edged out the Seahawks, 67-55, at Trask Coliseum.
LAST TIME VS. UNC-WILMINGTON: Junior Tiffany Green notched a career-high 21 points to help the then-No. 18/22 Old Dominion women's basketball team hold off a pesky UNC-Wilmington Seahawk squad, 67-55, at Trask Coliseum back on January 6th. UNC-Wilmington managed to cut the gap to three, 47-44, with 8:34 left in the game before Old Dominion went on a 10-2 run to hold on to a double figure lead the rest of the way. Seniors Megan Pym and T.J. Jordan joined Green in double digit scoring. Pym netted 12 points, along with a game-high nine boards, while Jordan collected 16, including 11 first half points. The Seahawks were led by Sahsha Taylor, who was the lone UNC-Wilimington player in double figures, with 19. Leading scorer and rebounder Brittany Blackwell, who entered the game averaging 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds, was held to just five points and two boards. Old Dominion opened the game on 13-4 run and led, 28-13, with five minutes left in the first half. However the Seahawks when on a 5-0 run over the course of the next five minutes and managed to close within eight at the half, 32-24. Two buckets by Taylor opened up the second half as UNC-Wilmington closed the gap even further to four points, 32-28. Old Dominion quickly gave themselves a nine point advantage over the next minute, however the Seahawks would not go away and continually chipped away at the Lady Monarch lead. With Old Dominion ahead, 47-38, with 12:37 left in the game, UNC-Wilmington proceeded to hit six straight free throws while keeping the Lady Monarchs scoreless. The Seahawks' proficiency from the line cut their deficit to three, 47-44, as 8:34 remained, before the Lady Monarchs made their move to close out the game.
CAA STREAK:Old Dominion has won its last 20 straight CAA contests. The Lady Monarchs last loss in league play was a 79-50 against James Madison in Harrisonburg on February 1, 2007.
UNDEFEATED - AT HOME:Old Dominion is currently 8-0 at home and finished non-conference play at 5-0 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
HOME COURT STREAK:The Lady Monarchs have won 19 straight home contests dating back to the Dec. 20, 2006, 72-55, victory over national runner-up Rutgers. ODU's last loss at the Ted Constant Convocation Center was against national champion Tennessee, 59-75, back on Dec. 22, 2006.
CAA HOME COURT STREAK: The Lady Monarchs have won 29 straight home CAA contests dating back to the January 14, 2005, 78-59, victory over Virginia Commonwealth. ODU's last conference loss at the Ted Constant Convocation Center was against Delaware, 70-73, on January 9, 2005. Old Dominion holds a 153-2 home CAA mark.
WELCOME TO THE TED:Since the doors opened at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in 2002, the Lady Monarchs have enjoyed a 71-12 record.
SIXTH LADY:Sophomore Jessica Canady, Old Dominion's sixth man...or lady, was named the CAA Player of the Week for the second time this season on January 28th. She averaged 23.5 points and 11.0 rebounds and shot 68 percent from the field coming off the bench in helping the No. 13/18 Old Dominion women's basketball team to back-to-back 30+ point victories Canady poured in a career-high 28 points against Northeastern, which included 22 first half points along with a string of 14 consecutive points. With the Lady Monarchs down 10-4 in the early part of the opening half, Canady went on a 14-1 run of her own to give Old Dominion the lead for good.Against Delaware, Old Dominion's "sixth woman" collected her third double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high 15 boards. Canady is currently averaging a team second-best 11.6 points per game.
CRACKING A TOP TEN: Junior Jazzmin Walters is getting closer to cracking the top ten junior assist list at Old Dominion. Walters, who dished out four assists in ODU's last outing at Delaware, has handed out 97 assists on the year needing seven more to surpass Debbie Richard, who holds 10th place with 102 dished during her junior season in 1977.
PASSING A LEGEND:Senior T.J. Jordan has moved up three spots on the ODU all-time scoring list since the beginning of the season. With her game-high 18 points against James Madison in the first meeting with the Dukes, she surpassed a Lady Monarch legend. Jordan surpassed current WNBA Sacramento Monarch Ticha Penicherio for 19th on the all-time list. Jordan currently has 1,341 career points.
