NEWARK, Del. -- The top-seeded Old Dominion women's basketball team will take on ninth-seeded Drexel to open up Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Basketball Tournament action on Friday. Game-time for the quarterfinal match-up is noon with videostreaming available at www.caasports.com.
It will be the second meeting in CAA Tournament action between the Lady Monarchs and Dragons. The two previously met in the 2005 semifinals with Old Dominion emerging with a 64-63 victory en-route to their 14th straight league title.
Drexel moves on from the first round after handing eighth-seeded Georgia State a 73-62 first round loss. CAA Rookie of the Year Gabriela Marginean led the Dragons with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
