RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION: The Lady Monarchs, winner of eight straight, are coming off an 84-62 victory over Virginia Commonwealth Thursday night. Old Dominion, along with James Madison, are the only two undefeated teams left in the CAA. Senior Sherida Triggs posted her first double-double of the year and 10th of her career with 14 points and 10 rebounds. ODU leading scorer T.J. Jordan led the troops with 20 points, the fifth time she has poured in 20 or more points this season. Senior Tish Lyons was the other Lady Monarch in double figures with 10 points. Jordan leads the Lady Monarchs averaging 15.7 points per game. She is sixth in the league in scoring and second nationally in three-pointers made averaging 3.4 per game. Junior Tay Ransburg currently leads ODU in the rebounding department hauling in an average of 6.0 per game.
LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
The Lady Monarchs collected their season series sweep of a CAA team in Thursday night's 84-62 win over Virginia Commonwealth. The game marked ODU's eighth straight win overall, 11th straight win against CAA competition, and 29th consecutive CAA home victory.
Old Dominion captured a season-high 84 points in Thursday's win. The Lady Monarchs have scored over 80 in their last two games.
Senior Sherida Triggs captured her first double-double and 10th of her career with 14 points and 10 rebounds in Thursday night's victory over the Rams. Triggs is the third Lady Monarch to perform a double-double this season joining sophomore Tiffany Green and junior Tay Ransburg.
Junior T.J. Jordan poured in a game-high 20 points against Virginia Commonwealth to lead all scorers. It was Jordan's fifth 20+ point game and the 13th time this season she has led the team in scoring. She is currently second nationally in three-pointers made averaging 3.4 per game.
Sophomore Jazzmin Walters continues to grow in her role as the Lady Monarchs starting point guard. The second year Lady Monarch dished out eight assists, tying both her career and season-high while committing only one turnover against Virginia Commonwealth. Additionally she tied her season and career high with four steals.
Old Dominion won its seventh straight with an 83-51 victory at Drexel last Sunday afternoon. Junior T.J. Jordan led all scores with 18 points. The Lady Monarchs started the game on an 11-0 run and never looked back.
The Lady Monarchs held a 37-18 halftime advantage against Drexel. It was the fourth time this year Old Dominion has held an opponent to under 20 at the half and the third time against an opponent from the CAA. The most ODU has scored at the half is 40, which occured in the first meeting against Virginia Commonwealth.
ABOUT WILLIAM & MARY: The Tribe enters Sunday's game with a 13-6 overall and 5-3 CAA record sitting in fifth place in the league race. William & Mary has won two straight, which have included a 58-49 victory over Northeastern and a 77-76 win at Georgia State Thursday night. The Tribe is led by 2006 CAA Player of the Year and 2007 CAA Preseason Player of the Year junior forward Kyra Kaylor. Kaylor is one of three Tribe members averaging double figure scoring pouring in 14.6 points along with a team-high 8.7 rebounds. Junior guard/forward Devin James is right behind Kaylor on the stat sheet averaging 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. She is ninth in the league in scoring and fourth in the rebounding department. Sophomore guard/forward Dani Kell had been averaging 12.6 points and 5.7 boards for the Tribe, but has missed the last five games due to injury.
SERIES WITH WILLIAM & MARY: Old Dominion lead the all-time series 42-3. The Tribe has not defeated the Lady Monarchs in 30 years with William & Mary's last victory over Old Dominion coming back in the 1975-76 season with an 89-53 win. Since then the Lady Monarchs have been winners of the last 40 contests. Last year's first meeting, a 77-68 Lady Monarch victory in Williamsburg back on January 8th, 2006 was the closest margin between the two teams since 1992, but in the second meeting on February 26th , Old Dominion downed the Tribe 85-33 to mark the lowest scoring output by an Lady Monarch opponent in 2005-06.
LAST TIME VS. WILLIAM & MARY: Forward Sherida Triggs scored 15 points and hauled in 13 rebounds to help lead Old Dominion to a 85-33 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Tribe of William and Mary back on February 26, 2006. Five Lady Monarchs scored in double figures. Joining Triggs was former Lady Monarch Lawona Davis with a game high 16 points, while fellow senior Paula Muxiri tied her career high with 14 points. T.J. Jordan added ten and Shahida Williams scored 12 points. With William and Mary leading, 11-10 with 13:03 remaining T.J. Jordan hit a trey to make it 13-11 and ODU then went on a 27-11 run the rest of the half. The Lady Monarch defense held William and Mary to a .218 (12-55) shooting From the floor. In the second half, the Tribe was only .185 (5-27) from the floor. ODU also dominated the boards, 54-30. ODU only committed nine turnovers, tying a season best. Shantel Wilson hauled down nine rebounds, one shy of her career high, and Tish Lyons brought down seven and scored eight points. The Tribe had two players in double fingures led by Devin James and Kyra Kaylor, each with 10. Kaylor hauled in nine rebounds as well.

THE MOST WE'VE SCORE: Old Dominion has scored over 80 points in its last two outings. The 84 points collected in Thursday's victory over Virginia Commonwealth were the most scored by the team this season, surpassing the previous high of 83 points collected in last Sunday's win at Drexel. The Lady Monarchs have reached the 80-point three times this season. They first collected 80 points in an 81-70 CAA opening win at Virginia Commonwealth back on January 4th.
DISH IT TO ME: Sophomore Jazzmin Walters continues to grow in her role as the Lady Monarchs starting point guard. FROM DOWNTOWN: Junior guard T.J. Jordan is second in the country in three-point field goals made with 3.4 per game and is 79th in three-point field goal percentage at .358. She has 897 career points which puts on track to reach 1,000 points in about seven games (or so). She has 61 three-point field goals this season and 201 for her career. Aubrey Eblin holds the school record in both categories with 97 treys made during the 1997-98 season and 250 made during her career.

NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY: The Old Dominion University Lady Monarchs invite girls and their parents to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, Jan. 28 when they host William and Mary at 2 p.m. at the Constant Center. Immediately following the game, ODU will offer a free seminar on Girls Sports and careers to all fans.The seminar will feature keynote speaker Sue Stahl, the former US Lacrosse Coach and current ODU Coach, along with Caroline Nichols and Barb Weinberg, Dr. Lynn Ridinger, a professor in the Sport Management department at Old Dominion University speaking about women in the sports industry; Terry Zablocki, certified athletic trainer discussing nutrition and injury prevention, and emcee Jan Trombly, U.S. team handball Olympian and fitness trainer. In addition, attendees can ask questions of a female student-athlete panel from ODU's sports teams.
GET READY FOR THE PINK-OUT: You may notice members of the ODU women's coaching staff donning pink for Sunday's game against William & Mary. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has encouraged its membership, all coaching staffs and game day support staffs to help unify the women's basketball world in a show of support for all coaches in the profession who are battling cancer throughout the weekend of January 26-28. All coaches have been asked to wear pink on the bench. Old Dominion will host its own event on February 11th when the Lady Monarchs take on league rival Delaware in a television game. The contest against the Fightin' Blue Hens will mark the annual HOOPS FOR A CURE game. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to "PINK OUT" the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
