RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION: The Old Dominion women's basketball team cruised to its sixth straight win with a 69-49 victory over the George Mason Patriots on Thursday night at the Patriot Center as the Lady Monarchs extended its win streak over the Patriots to 40 consecutive contests. It was the third time this season the Lady Monarchs have held an opponent to under 20 points at the half as they led 38-17 at the intermission. Old Dominion was just three points shy of scoring their most points in a first half. Junior guard T.J. Jordan scored 17 of her game-high 19 points in the opening-half connecting on five three-pointers. Junior Tay Ransburg also hauled in six of her game-high eight boards in the opening stanza. Jordan was one of three Lady Monarchs reaching double figures. Sherida Triggs poured in 14, with 10 of those points coming in the second half. Ransburg netted 10 and was just two boards shy of her second straight double-double. Also narrowly missing a double-double was Green who scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. The Patriots were held to 29.6 from the field, the second lowest field goal percentage by an ODU opponent in 2006-07. The game also marked the fourth time the Lady Monarchs held an opponent to under 50 points in a game this season. Jordan leads the way for the Lady Monarchs with 15.3 points per game, ranking sixth in the league in scoring and 15th in field goal percentage. She is third in the country in three-point field goals made hitting an average of 3.3 per contest. Green leads ODU in the rebounding department at 6.1 boards per game.
ABOUT DREXEL: The Drexel Dragons have dropped five straight and enter Sunday's contest with a 5-12 overall record and still looking for conference win number one with an 0-6 CAA mark. The Dragons' last win came at American on December 30th win a 61-58 victory. Drexel is led by freshman forward Gabriela Marginean and junior guard Narissa Suber at 13.9 points per game. Suber is second behind Lady Monarch T.J. Jordan in three-point field goals made a game, sinking 2.82 trey a game. Margienan and senior guard Kira Karlstrom lead the Dragons in rebounds averaging 6.6 boards per game.
SERIES WITH DREXEL: Old Dominion holds a 11-1 record against Drexel as these two teams became annual rivals when the Dragons enter the CAA conference for the 2001-02 season. The Dragons' lone victory came up the Daskalakis Center in the 2005 regular season finale with Drexel holding on to a 71-68 victory. However, in the rematch, Old Dominion edged out Drexel, 64-63, in the CAA Tournament semifinals en-route to the Lady Monarchs' 14th straight CAA title. The Lady Monarchs won the last meeting on the Dragons' homecourt, 63-53.
LAST TIME VS. DREXEL: The Old Dominion women's basketball team won their third game of their current six-game win streak as they defeated Drexel, 70-45, on January 7th at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in their CAA home opener.Old Dominion led much of the way. After a back and forth battle in the opening minutes, junior Tay Ransburg collected the first of her nine points on a bucket which would give the Lady Monarchs the lead for good. Her jumper put the Lady Monarchs ahead, 5-4, with 17:23 on the clock. Leading by only two, 11-9, Lady Monarch leading scorer T.J. Jordan sunk one of her trademark three-pointers to spark a 10-0 run. With six minutes remaining in the half, Old Dominion had established a 12 point lead, 21-9. Drexel managed to cut their deficit to five thanks to consecutive three pointers by Narissa Suber. Her second three gave Old Dominion only a 24-19 edge with 4:03 to go.Old Dominion held tough during the final minutes of the first half, outscoring Drexel 8-3 during those final four minutes to re-establish a double figure lead and enter the lockerroom up 33-22. The Dragons held the Lady Monarchs without a bucket during the opening three minutes of the second half and pulled to within five once again. Nicole McCombs, who only played four minutes of the first half for Drexel due to foul trouble, started off the second rattling off six straight points. She went 4-of-4 from the free throw line and added in a jumper to close the gap to 33-28. However, that would be the closest the Dragons would get the rest of the afternoon. Ahead by nine, 44-35, with 12:03 left in the game, the Lady Monarchs used another 10-0 run to go ahead by double digits for good. The run saw senior Tish Lyons go a perfect 4-of-4 from the line and sophomore Jen Nuzzo come off the bench to sink a three. By the end of the Drexel scoring drought, Old Dominion had a 19-point 54-35 lead that they would continue to expand by as much as 25. The foul plagued second half saw the Lady Monarchs go to the line 13 times, making 11 shots. They shot 84.6 for the half from the charity stripe and a season-high 76.0 percent for the game. Jordan once again led the Lady Monarchs in scoring pouring in a game-high 18 points which included a perfect 5-of-5 effort from the line and three made shots from downtown. Drexel had two in double figures with Gabriela Marginean and Narissa Suber each contributing 10 points each. Old Dominion held a slight edge on the boards, 36-34.

AT THE DAC: Old Dominion head coach Wendy Larry captured her 500th victory this season, however it was career win number 400 that took place at the Daskalakis Athletic Center back on February 24, 2002 with a 90-57 win over the Dragons.
