RADIO: For the 16th-straight season ESPN Radio (1310 am - Norfolk, Va.) will be broadcasting all the Lady Monarch contests. Thirteen-time sportscaster of the Year Tony Mercurio will call all the action. Former Lady Monarch and ODU Hall of Fame inductee, Adrienne Goodson and former assistant coach Susan Montgomery will join Mercurio and add color commentary at all home games at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. A monthly fee of $6.95 through the College Pass program, which also provides the audio and video broadcasts of over 100 colleges and universities, will allow fans to listen to the broadcast online at www.odusports.com.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION: The Old Dominion women's basketball team is currently on a four-game win streak aftercollecting a 75-54 home victory over Georgia State Thursday night. The Old Dominion women's basketball team improved to .500 on the season with its fourth straight win, a 75-54 victory over a visiting Georgia State squad on Thursday evening at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Old Dominion held a 34-16 first half advantage marking the lowest scoring output by a Lady Monarch opponent this season. The 18-point ODU halftime lead also tied the Lady Monarchs largest halftime lead this year. Old Dominion also held an 18-point, 35-17 advantage over Chicago State in head coach Wendy Larry's 500th career victory over Chicago State back on December 9th. Additionally, the Lady Panthers tied its season low for scoring in a half with its 16 points. Georiga State only held the lead once with Brittany Hollins scoring on the opening bucket. From there, the Lady Monarch raced out on a 10-0 run and never looked back. The Old Dominion defense helped hold Georgia State to just seven field goals as they went 7-of-30 from the field in the opening half shooting only 23.3 percent. The second half saw Old Dominion expand its lead as a many as 25. Three Lady Monarchs reached double digits in the victory led by Sherida Triggs with 16. Shahida Williams poured in 15 while Tish Lyons added in 10 from off the bench. Jazz Walters dished out eight assists and registered four steals, tying career highs in both categories. The Lady Monarchs managed to collect 31 points off of 25 Lady Panther miscues and outscored the Georgia State bench, 32-6.
ABOUT HOFSTRA: The Hofstra Pride are off to one of their best starts in school history. The Pride enters Sunday's contest with a 13-2 overall mark and 3-1 mark in the CAA. Their two losses have been to Baylor, currently ranked ninth in the polls, and Delaware, in a game that came down to the wire. The loss at Delaware snapped a school record 10-game winning streak which also saw the Pride defeat a ranked Michigan State squad, their first victory over a nationally ranked opponent in its Division I history. Hofstra has won its last two games including a 46-45 win at Drexel Thursday night, thrwarting a second half Dragon comeback. Four Pride members are averaging double figured led by Vanessa Gidden averaging 15.3 points, fifth in the CAA in scoring, and 7.7 rebounds per game. Other double figures scorers include Cigi McCollin (14.2 ppg), Lizanne Murphy (11.9 ppg), and Lana Harshaw (10.5 ppg).
ABOUT SERIES WITH HOFSTRA: Old Dominion holds a 12-1 record in the all-time series with Hofstra. Hofstra's lone win in the series came on January 18th, 2004 as the Pride edged the Lady Monarchs, 72-74. Since that loss, the Lady Monarchs have collected seven straight wins over the Pride including their last 100 point game with a 105-62 win at the Constant Center on February 12, 2004 and last season's 94-73 CAA semifinal win.
LAST TIME VS. HOFSTRA: The Old Dominion women's basketball team advanced to the CAA championship game with a 94-73 semifinal victory over fourth seeded Hofstra back on March 10, 2006. Everyone scored for the Lady Monarchs which included 23 points by T.J. Jordan and a career-high nine points by former Lady Monarch Angie Brown. Joining Jordan in double figures was Paula Muxiri with 14, Tish Lyons with 12, and senior Lawona Davis with 10. It was the eighth time last season the entire roster recorded points. The 94 points scored by the Lady Monarchs was the most in tournament action by the squad since the 2000 tournament which saw ODU scored 92 points in its 92-49 victory over UNC-Wilmington for its ninth straight CAA title. Old Dominion shot a season-best 59.3 percent from the floor, but were outrebounded for the eighth time last season, 44-41. Hofstra's Vanessa Gidden collected her a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Additionally, Gidden shot a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Lizanne Murphy registered a team-high 19 points, while Amaka Agugua poured in 12, and Lana Harshaw came off the bench for 11 points.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Redshirt sophomore Tiffany Green will celebrate her 22nd birthday on Tuesday, January 16th. Green is the second Lady Monarch to celebrate her birthday this season. Sophomore Jazzmin Walters celebrated her 20th birthday on January 6th, one day prior to Old Dominion's 70-45 CAA home opening victory over Drexel.

ON THE GLASS: Although junior Tay Ransburg was held to only two points, both from the line, she hauled in a season-high nine boards as Old Dominion outrebounded Georgia State, 47-31, on Thursday.
FORCING TURNOVERS: Old Dominion is working on cutting down on its turnovers, but against Drexel in the CAA home opener, the Lady Monarchs forced the turnovers. The Dragons committed 30 miscues leading to 26 Lady Monarch points. The 30 turnovers are the most committed by a Lady Monarch opponent this season. ODU followed as the Lady Monarchs managed to collect 31 points off of 25 Georgia State miscues the following game.
LOOKING AT THE BENCH: Since beginning CAA action on January 4th, the Lady Monarch bench as been producing almost twice the amount as the opponent bench. Through three conference games, ODU's bench has collected 56 points as compared to their opponent's 32. Against Georgia State, ODU outscored the Lady Panther bench, 32-6.
UP NEXT:The Lady Monarchs hit the road again traveling to George Mason on Thursday, in their first of two meetings this season, and then on to Drexel Sunday to close out the season series with the Dragons.
