Cindy Russo ('75) became the 16th Division I women's basketballcoach to reach the 600-win plateau as her Golden Panthers of Florida International defeated Central Connecticut, 73-51 on Dec. 24. Russo, a native of Portsmouth,VA is 600-255 overall and 560-233 in 28 yars at FIU.
Russo's Golden Panthers are 7-3. She is in her 30th year as a head coach. Besides 28 years at FIU, Russo was 40-22 in two years at Lamar from 1978-80.
Lady Monarch Hall of Famer Inge Nissen ('80) is an associate coach with Russo.
Russo played for the Lady Monarchs from 1972-75.
