NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team hits the hardwood Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in another exhibition test. The Lady Monarchs will take on Team Concept which features former Lady Monarch Sharon Francis.
Francis was a member of the Lady Monarchs from 1998-2002 helping the Lady Monarchs to four CAA titles, two Sweet 16 appearance and the Elite Eight during her senior campaign. A three-year starters, she averaged 7.7 points per game as a senior and is fourth all-time at ODU in career assists with 126.
This is the Lady Monarchs second exhibition test. Old Dominion took part in the annual Blue-White Game last Sunday with sophomore Tiffany Green (Chesapeake, Va.) leading the way with 16 points and nine rebounds. Junior T.J. Jordan (Portsmouth, Va.) poured in 15 points, while senior Tish Lyons (Newport News, Va.) added 14 and junior Tay Ransburg (Kansas City, Mo.) netted 11.
Team Concept will play at Virginia on Tuesday night before traveling to Norfolk to take on the Lady Monarchs.
Old Dominion will have one more exhibition test before opening the 2006-07 regular season at Virginia. The Lady Monarch host M.I. Express on Tuesday, November 7th.
