Lady Monarchs Kick-Off 2006-07 Season Friday Night With Open Practice

NORFOLK, Va. -- Come join head coach Wendy Larry and the 2006-07 Lady Monarchs as the 15-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions kick-off the 2006-07 season with an open practice at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Free hot dogs and soda while supplies last will be available for fans who attend the Lady Monarchs' first official practice of the year.

The Old Dominion women's basketball team returns four starters and nine letterwinners from last year's 22-9 team. Among the returnees include CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and Second Team All-CAA honoree junior guard T.J. Jordan (Portmouth, Va.) and Second Team All-CAA member senior forward Sherida Triggs (Norcross, Ga.). Head coach Wendy Larry enters the season holding a 497-182 overall record needing three wins to become the 23rd active and 29th overall Division I coach to reach the half century mark in victories.

Current and future Lady Monarch Pride members are also invited to the first Pride meeting for the 2006-07 season with the players and coaches from 6:00-6:50 p.m. in the meeting rooms at the Constant Convocation Center.
