NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University senior forward Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) was named College Soccer News' National Player of the Week, along with garnering CAA Player of the Week honors for his work in shutout victories against #4 Virginia and #20 Davidson. Cvilikas scored two goals in the 3-0 victory at home against Virginia last Wednesday, and followed up with another two-goal effort in the road win against Davidson. Cvilikas has now tallied seven goals in the past four matches, and leads the conference in points (14) and goals scored (7). He was also named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week.

Cvilikas and current Monarch Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) are the only Monarchs in program history to earn College Soccer News National Player of the Week honors. Cvilikas took CAA player of the week honors for the second time in his career, earning the award after a two-goal effort against rival Virginia Commonwealth on October 12th, 2003.

Cvilikas is the third Monarch to win CAA individual honors this season. Freshman Trevor Banks (Madison, WI) and defender Yomby William (Bafoussam, Cameroon) have both collected CAA Co-Rookie of the Week awards. Banks scored both goals in the ODU season-opening 2-1 victory against N.C. State, and William marked both Rhode Island and Clemson's top scorers during ODU's two shutout outings in the Stihl Soccer Classic.
