Aug. 30, 2005

NORFOLK, VA--Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) was selected to the College Soccer News Preseason 1st Team All-American team for the second time, as announced by www.collegesoccernews.com last week. After sitting out the entire 2004 season with a knee injury, McEachron returns to his central defender position for the Monarchs in his senior season.

McEachron had a career year in 2003, anchoring one of the best defenses in Division I men's soccer. He was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defender of the Year, was named to the All-CAA First Team as well as the NSCAA/Adidas All-American First Team. In addition, he was named National Player of the Week by College Soccer News for the week ending September 14 and was named CAA Player of the Week two weeks in a row (September 15 and 22). McEachron started in 17 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury against George Mason.

McEachron was the only Monarch to make the list. VCU's Dominic Oduro, a senior forward, was selected a 2nd team Preseason All-American.
