NORFOLK, Va. -- The Lady Monarch women's basketball team opens up the 2004-05 season playing the fourth strongest non-conference schedule in the country according to the WBCA/Summerville Pre Season Strength Of Schedule Rankings released on Friday. Old Dominion, who received votes in the Preseason USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches' Poll, had six of their nine non-conference opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the poll.
Tennessee, the Lady Monarchs' opponent on January 2nd, topped the list. Penn State, who Old Dominion will travel to meet in State College on December 19th, ranked second, followed by Purdue.
