Norfolk, VA - The Old Dominion University Lady Monarchs and Lady Monarch Pride will join forces with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and area hospitals to sponsor a Cookout for the Cure on Sunday, Oct. 12 at ODU's Whitehurst beach at 2 p.m.
The event will feature Head Coach Wendy Larry and the 2003-04 Lady Monarchs. Tickets are $40 and include a door prize ticket, two drink tickets, live entertainment, and a menu featuring seafood, barbeque, side dishes, and desserts. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Komen Foundation Tidewater affiliate.
Tickets are available at the ODU Athletic Administration ticket office at 683-5484, and at Chesapeake Health, Obici Hospital, Riverside Health System, Sentara Cancer Services, Sentara Virginia Beach General and Curves for Women. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Thursday, Oct. 9.
