NORFOLK, VA - The Old Dominion women's basketball team will take on the second toughest non-conference schedule in the country according to the Preseason Strength of Schedule Report released by the WBCA-Summerville RPI Report.

The Lady Monarchs will face 10 non-conference foes in 2003-04 of which nine advanced to post-season play last year. Highlights on the non-conference match-ups include NCAA runner-up Tennessee, and Sweet 16 participants Penn State and Colorado. Other 2003 NCAA Tournament teams the Lady Monarchs will face include Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Rutgers, Charlotte, and Georgia Tech.

Old Dominion will open up the 2003-04 season at the WBCA Classic in Boulder, Colorado. The Lady Monarchs will take on Sweet 16 participant and host Colorado in the opening round and face either Notre Dame, who also advanced to last year's Sweet 16, or WNIT Champion, Auburn, in the following bracket.

Tennessee, the Lady Monarchs' opponent in Knoxville on January 4th, topped the list of having the toughest non-conference schedule. Following Old Dominion were the Penn State Lady Lions, who come to Norfolk on November 25th, Duke, and Southern.
